Nairobi: Twenty officers from the National Police Service (NPS) have been recognised for exceptional courage at the annual Chandaria Bravery Award ceremony held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at NPS Headquarters.
The event was presided over by Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, with Dr. Manu Chandaria in attendance alongside a Chandaria Foundation delegation comprising Patrick Weru and Isaac Jaabir.
NPS ceremony highlights
Speaking at the occasion, IG Kanja extended congratulations to the 20 award recipients, describing them as officers who embody the core values the service upholds.
He also extended his congratulations to the recipients, praising them for demonstrating the core qualities of bravery, discipline and integrity, which reflect the ideals of the National Police Service. Kanja also noted that the recognition is a testament to their willingness to go beyond the call of duty.
Further, the IG thanked the Chandaria Foundation for its longstanding solidarity with the Service and its role in sustaining a culture of excellence within the police.
