Kenyan rapper KRG The Don has set social media ablaze after a video surfaced of him speaking Luganda with surprising fluency, leaving fans and followers genuinely bewildered.
The clip, shared by Caramel TV on TikTok on August 17, 2026, showed KRG making a pointed claim about the visibility of Ugandan artists on the other side of the border.
Speaking entirely in Luganda, he said:
"Eka Kati n'otwala omuyimbi w'e Uganda n'omutwala e Nairobi. Bw'aba atambula paka paka paka paka wano nga tafunye muntu n'ambuuza nti 'gw'ani?' Wakavisiti nga tafunye..." which translates to: "Now, if you take a Ugandan artist and bring them to Nairobi, they could walk and walk and walk all around here without finding a single person who asks them, 'Who are you?' Or visiting without getting...(noticed)."
The remark, bold as it was, took a backseat to the bigger talking point: the fact that KRG delivered it in Luganda at all.

Fans react to KRG's language skills
The comments section erupted almost immediately, with many Kenyans expressing disbelief that a Kenyan artist could switch into an East African Bantu language so comfortably.
@jonik shamba wrote:
"KRG, how did he know how to speak Luganda 😅?"
@jam was equally surprised, saying:
"He's talking Luganda better than he does Kikuyu, ??? Who is this dude? 😳"
@Shaddycrezzy pointed out the hustle behind the skill:
"How did KRG know Kiganda bro 😂 😂 you're a real hustler 😂 😂."
@AJ njeri deals added a twist to the conversation, asking:
"How did KRG know kibanyankore 🤔 🤔?"
Some fans found the humour in the cross-linguistic similarities. @Carolina-m noted:
"It's funny some words sound Kikuyu."
@Safari_Abu.ke kept it philosophical:
"People who speak multiple languages are dangerous 😂😂."
@gilbert wanjala fred simply concluded:
"This dude is a genius ✌️."
@Justus Heavens weighed in on KRG's actual claim, writing:
"That's so true except for Chameleon and Bebe Cool", a nod to two Ugandan acts who have genuinely broken through in Kenya and beyond.
@Alfajiri Digital Space, meanwhile, took a slightly different angle:
"Kwani KRG hukuwa nani 🤨 🤨". Seemingly questioning whether KRG himself is well-known enough to be making that argument.
Whether fans agreed with his take on Ugandan artists or not, one thing was clear: KRG The Don's command of Luganda was the real headline of the day.
