Outgoing Air India CEO Campbell Wilson to Join Air New Zealand Board
Skift Take
Campbell Wilson’s Air India record will inevitably follow him into the Air New Zealand boardroom.
Air New Zealand Wednesday announced it has appointed former Air India CEO Campbell Wilson to its board, bringing in an airline veteran with more than three decades of experience as the carrier deals with fleet, engine and cost pressures.
Wilson and former Air New Zealand Chief Financial Officer Robert McDonald will join the board from the airline’s annual shareholders’ meeting on September 24, subject to shareholder approval. They will replace Larry De Shon, the U.S.-based director who is retiring after joining the board in 2020.
Before taking over at Air India, Wilson spent more than two decades at Singapore Airlines, including as senior vice president for sales and marketing, and was the founding CEO of its low-cost carrier Scoot.
But it was his Air India stint that put Wilson in global spotlight.
