President William Ruto has extended his congratulations to Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema after the latter secured re-election following the August 13, 2026 general election, pledging to deepen cooperation between the two countries.
Writing on behalf of the Kenyan government and people, Ruto described the outcome as a clear mandate from Zambian voters.
"On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Kenya, and on my own behalf, I extend my warmest congratulations to you and the people of the Republic of Zambia on the election held on 13th August, 2026, and on your re-election as President of the Republic of Zambia," Ruto said.
