Gachagua Confirms Plan to Visit Luo Nyanza

On Monday, August 24, DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua confirmed plans to visit Luo Nyanza following an invitation by Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino.
Gachagua said Babu told him that the people wanted to hear from the 'Truthful Man'. He confirmed that he will visit the region when he returns from the United States.
The DCP Leader revealed plans to have a discussion forum with journalists from local TV and radio stations before visiting Kango Ka Jaramogi to pay his last respects to the late Raila Odinga.
"Once I come back, I will invite Ramogi again. I will arrange a tour of Siaya, Migori, Homa Bay and Kisumu Dala," Gachagua confirmed.
The former Deputy President aimed thatan earlier media engagement he had with Luo vernacular media houses was not successful because the government tried to curtail his voice.

He sensationally claimed that Royal Media Services journalist Trevor Ombija was influenced to ensure that he did not get enough time to express himself.
"The last time I called Ramogi, Ombija was called by Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo and was instructed not to afford me time to speak," he stated.
Gachagua accused President William Ruto of trying to create a rift between the people of Mount Kenya and Luo Nyanza. He maintained that there is no conflict between the two communities.
The ex-DP further called out the leaders from Luo Nyanza, whom he claimed were working on Ruto's instructions to insult him. He stated that he, personally, has no problem with the community or their departed leader, the late Raila Odinga.
"You claim that Riggy Gee has a problem with Luos, yet I never ran against Raila. Ours was just political competition, but I have never done anything against the community," he reiterated.
The ex-DP revealed that Samuel Oreta, a Luo man who served as Kiambu District Commissioner, mentored him into politics. He also admitted that he worked well with Peter Raburu, who was the Kakamega DC.
Gachagua added that beyond his line of duty, he entrusted people from Luo Nyanza with his health, and went further to state that his architect is also from the region.
