A Kenyan TikToker is making waves online after claiming he purchased a Lexus LX 570 as a personal gift for President William Ruto.
The man, known on TikTok as Official Barki, posted a video of himself inside the luxurious SUV, speaking directly to the head of state.
Why does TikToker Barki want to gift Ruto a Lexus?
He walked viewers through the vehicle's features and specifications before making his grand declaration.
"Your Excellency, let this reach you because I have already bought it for you," Barki said in the clip.
He framed the gesture as a token of gratitude for the president's service to the country.
" our Excellency, President William Samoei Ruto. I have bought this Lexus LX 570 for you as a token of appreciation for your hard work, leadership, and service to our great nation, Kenya. May you continue leading with strength, dedication, and vision," he added.
Barki, who appears to operate a car dealership, rounded off his video with a confident promise: "
Very soon, it's coming to State House."
However, a separate remark drew scrutiny from viewers.
"Come 2027, all campaigns, all the cars will come from me," he noted, prompting many to question whether this was truly an act of goodwill or a cleverly packaged advertisement aimed at generating business.
How much does a Lexus LX 570 cost in Kenya?
TUKO.co.ke reached out to city car dealer Denis Kimanthi, who shed light on the vehicle's market value.
He estimated that a comparable Lexus LX 570 would cost between KSh 12 million and KSh 15 million, depending on its trim and specifications.
Kimanthi also explained why the model is a favourite in high-profile circles, including presidential convoys.
"These cars balance luxury and practicality very well. It is no surprise that the president owns several and even has newer models such as the LX 600. It is a car that screams road presence, wealth and comfortability even on long or short trips," he said.
