The incident unfolded after a vehicle, later discovered to be transporting a substantial quantity of narcotics, attempted to evade Federal Highway Police.
Ms. da Silva, 28, widely recognized by her online moniker Vampira 085, perished at the scene of the crash on the BR-251 highway in Salinas, Minas Gerais. Authorities reported that the Fiat Cronos she was travelling in refused to stop during a routine traffic inspection, subsequently accelerating and covering approximately six miles before its driver attempted a dangerous manoeuvre to overtake four vehicles simultaneously. This reckless action led to a direct impact with an oncoming black GM Astra.
Following the catastrophic collision, investigators uncovered roughly 137 kilograms of illegal narcotics within the Fiat Cronos. Alongside Alana Alves da Silva, two other occupants of the fleeing vehicle were declared dead at the site: 24-year-old driver Pedro Yan Linhares Gutierrez and 19-year-old Ramon Silverio Nogueira. A fourth passenger, an unnamed 20-year-old woman, sustained critical injuries and was transported to a hospital for urgent medical attention.
The impact also claimed the lives of all four individuals in the GM Astra, who were identified as Argemiro Machado da Silva, 79; Valmir Machado da Silva, 76; Alcides Silva Santos, 77; and Gilmar Bispo dos Santos, 46. All victims from the Astra hailed from the municipality of Ruy Barbosa in Brazil's Bahia state, adding a profound layer of loss to their community.
