What Tahmeed Express Did to Bus KCR 615
Following the passenger transfer, the company removed all seats from KCR 615 and carried out a full fumigation and spraying of the bus. Tahmeed Express said the vehicle was only returned to service after it was confirmed to be completely free of pests.
"We grounded KCR 615 and removed all seats. We thoroughly sprayed and fumigated the entire bus to eliminate all bedbugs. We have cleared KCR 615 for service only after confirming it is 100% pest-free," the company said in its statement.
Fleet-Wide Measures Announced
Beyond addressing bus KCR 615 specifically, Tahmeed Express outlined a broader set of preventive steps it is implementing across its fleet.
The company said it has increased the frequency of fumigation for all its buses and has stopped transporting used bedding on all routes, citing the risk of re-infestation.
The company also announced plans to upgrade the materials used for seat covers, specifying that the new materials will be selected because they do not harbour bedbugs.
Tahmeed Express closed its statement by inviting customers to continue reporting issues they observe, saying customer feedback directly shapes the company's service standards.
"We are committed to delivering clean, safe, and reliable service on every trip," the company said.
