Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale's late wife, Gloria's eldest son, Engine Kukaste Khalwale, has given a beautiful tribute at his mum's funeral.
Speaking as the eldest son to eulogise his mother, he could not hold his emotions as he thanked his mother for the beautiful moments they shared.
Gloria died on August 15 after suffering a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. The politician recalled tried everything to save his life.
While speaking, Engine recalled the last words his mum shared as he vowed to continue with her legacy and ensure everything was done.
"Before I say anything else, mama...mama...mama asante. Asante. Umeniacha na deni na najua siwezi kutimiza kulipa. Mama, asanti. We know you are here; you are listening. Asante. All that you have done, thank you. I have nothing to say. Mama left me with some words; I will ensure that whatever she wanted will come to be. Mama wanted to go to so many places, years to come. Mama lala salama; it is inexplicable how you suddenly died. Mama was so happy the past few months; she was so happy. It is inexplicable," he said.
