Fully funded: Daystar University opens scholarships for EAC nationals

Daystar University, in partnership with the Inter-University Council of East Africa (IUEAC), has opened applications for a fully funded two-year Master of Science degree in Economics, with the January 2027 intake already under way.
According to the notice on Daily Nation newspaper, the scholarship is open to citizens of all East African Community partner states with the exception of Kenya.
Candidates must have secured or be in the process of securing admission to the MSc in Economics programme at Daystar University and must not exceed 35 years of age at the time of application.
Academic Requirements
Academically, applicants are required to hold at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) undergraduate degree or a Grade Point Average of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale.
Those who graduated with a Lower Second Class Honours may still be considered, provided they can demonstrate a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
What the Scholarship Covers
The scholarship package is comprehensive. Successful candidates will have their full tuition fees covered for the duration of the programme.
In addition, they will receive a monthly stipend, one return air ticket to and from their home country, medical insurance, and a research allowance to support their academic work.
The application window opened on August 20, 2026, and closes on September 10, 2026. Interested candidates are advised to apply promptly given the short timeline.
