Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has issued a strong warning to former deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, threatening to reveal details of their private conversations before Gachagua's dramatic removal from office.

Kindiki, who has recently come under a barrage of attacks and allegations from his predecessor, appeared to caution Gachagua against pushing him too far, saying he could disclose what transpired during their private meetings.

Speaking during a ceremony in Embu county, Kindiki said he had repeatedly tried to help Gachagua navigate his increasingly strained relationship with President William Ruto before his impeachment in October 2024.

“I told you that I don't want to be like you. Do not push me into revealing the secrets of how I tried to save you from impeachment, but you did not listen to me,” Kindiki said.

Details of Kindiki-Gachagua late-nigh meetings

The deputy president said he had visited Gachagua at night on several occasions and urged him to repair his relationship with Ruto.

“I came to your place many nights and told you to mend relations with the President. Be faithful to him so that tomorrow you can also be President of the country,” he said.

Kindiki claimed Gachagua dismissed his advice and told him he did not understand what he was talking about.

“You despised me and told me I don't know what I'm talking about. Now you're making noise from outside,” Kindiki added.

Kindiki warns Gachagua
