Uriri MP calls for county dialogue on Vision 2060

Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita has called for a County-level Dialogue on Vision 2060 to allow every region to contribute to the country’s long-term development agenda.

Speaking while launching various development projects in Uriri Constituency, Nyamita criticized the opposition for fighting the Vision 2060 plan instead of providing alternative ideas.

The legislator therefore challenged opposition leaders to come to the table with their views and proposals, rather than simply criticizing government plans.

“The opposition cannot be criticizing everything the government does. We in a broad-based government welcome any ideas that the opposition may be having to steer the country forward,” said Nyamita.

The MP said proper planning was critical if Kenya is to achieve meaningful development, arguing that the country cannot realize its long-term goals without a clear development roadmap.

He urged political leaders to focus on constructive engagement and offer solutions based on ideas to help shape Kenya’s future.

The MP disclosed that taking the Vision 2060 conversation to the counties would give local leaders and residents an opportunity to participate in discussions on development priorities and contribute ideas that reflect the needs of their communities.

The legislator also explained that the country needs a candid conversation where all citizens can participate to contribute positively to the future of the country beyond Vision 2030

His remarks came as he launched and inspected a number of development projects across Uriri Constituency.
