"It is with heavy hearts that we, as a family, share the sad news of the passing of our beloved Rosemary Chemutai Koech Kimwatu," the family wrote, adding that they were still coming to terms with the loss.
The family asked the public to keep her four children in their thoughts and prayers during what they described as an incredibly difficult time, expressing gratitude for the life she lived and the memories she left behind.
"We thank God for the gift of her life, the love she shared, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind," the statement read. "May Rosemary's beautiful soul rest in eternal peace."
