Investigators believe a portion of the money had already changed hands before the murder was committed. According to the emerging findings, the killing was premeditated and involved multiple individuals, including at least one person who had been tracking Mutiso's movements prior to the attack.

Manhunt for Fugitive Officers Intensifies

Senior security officers from the Central Region, led by David Loronyokwe, intensified their search on Saturday for two police officers who disappeared after being identified as key suspects in the case.

The officers are Inspector Kenneth Kipkemboi Sang, attached to Nderi Police Station, and Bett Kiplangat Collins of Thogoto Police Station.

The search teams, working alongside officers from Kikuyu Police Station, conducted a series of visits to police posts under the station's command as they pursued leads on the whereabouts of the two fugitives.

At Thogoto Police Station, investigators searched the residential quarters previously occupied by Collins Bett, seizing several items and records considered relevant to the ongoing probe.

The team subsequently moved to Karinde Police Station, where the main suspect, Elijah Kimoi, had previously been stationed.

Second Vehicle Recovered

In a separate development, detectives recovered an additional vehicle allegedly stolen from the disputed property at the centre of the case.

The recovery adds to a growing body of physical evidence being assembled by investigators as the probe advances.
