Nairobi - Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across six counties on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, as part of routine network maintenance works.
The utility issued the notice on Tuesday evening, citing the need to maintain and upgrade power infrastructure, connect new customers, and carry out line replacements as the basis for the outages.
The interruptions fall under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules, which governs planned supply interruptions.
"Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as hereunder. It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically in order to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power," Kenya Power said.

1. Parts of Nakuru County
Area: Part of Salga Centre, 9:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M.
Parts of Salga Market, Sachangwan Market, NRWSC, Nguzo Water Project, Migaa Centre, GSU Molo Camp, Kibunja Market and adjacent customers.
2. Parts of Migori County
Area: Ngere and Alara, 9:00 A.M.–5:00 P.M.
Saria, Alara, Nyambija, Nyangija Ngere, Kanyawang, Kangeso, Kwoyo Kodalo, Ringa Kodogo and adjacent customers.
3. Parts of Meru County
Area: Nchiru, Kagaene and Machagene, 8:00 A.M.–5:00 P.M.
Part of Nchiru, Cedar Hotel, Mwithanga, Kanthiari, Uringu, Kamaroo, Mwathene Dispensary, Kimachia Secondary, Kamaruki, Kagane Shopping, Kithiri Polytechnic, Kimirii Centre, Mbeu Sub-District Hospital, Kaamu Primary, Kiliati Mixed Secondary, Machangne and adjacent customers.
