Nairobi - Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions across nine counties on Monday, August 18, affecting multiple towns, market centres, and rural areas as the utility carries out scheduled maintenance work.
The power firm issued the notice citing Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules, explaining that the interruptions are required to allow engineers to maintain and upgrade existing power lines, connect new customers, and replace ageing infrastructure on the network.
"It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically in order to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power," Kenya Power said in the notice.
